Hey, have you ever wondered about how to market to a duck? 🦆
Ducks are awesome.
They can do things that other animals can’t.
They can fly, swim, and walk.
But the most important thing is they can quack.
Ducks are like our ideal customers.
They’re the ones who have a problem that only we can solve.
But how do we get them to notice and love us?
I believe some of you know.
We need a content strategy.
A content strategy is a plan that helps us create, share, and measure content that attracts, engages, and converts our target audience.
It helps us align our content with our business goals, our customer needs, and our brand voice.
But we can’t create a content strategy for a duck like we create a content strategy for another animal.
We can’t use the same message, the same channel, or the same offer for a duck with the same content for a hamster, or jellyfish.
We need to create content for a duck like we are a duck.
How do we do that?
Here are some tips I write to help you create a content strategy for a duck.
Table of Contents
Tip #1: Find out where ducks hang out
Do ducks use Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram?
Nah, you tell me.
They care about the platforms that suit their needs, their preferences, and their behaviors.
So where do ducks hang out?
They hang out in ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams.
Or in parks, or in gardens.
Sometimes they also hang out in pairs and alone.
We must find out what those platforms are, and join them.
Just like the audience we target, we have to create content that fits the format, the tone, and the purpose of those platforms.
By that; creating content that is relevant, useful, and engaging for ducks is the best way.
Tip #2: Speak Duck Language
Ducks don’t speak any human language.
They speak their own language, or perhaps they have their own dialect.
So like our ideal target audiences, we need to learn what their language is, and use it.
Try to adapt our content to the style, and the tone of their language.
Use words, phrases, and expressions that ducks can relate to, resonate with, and remember.
For example, we can use honks, and whistles to catch their attention, convey emotion, and emphasize points.
For duck, you can just quack.
They will quack back.
Tip #3: Offer them Something they Can’t Resist
Do ducks care about your offer like a discount code?
I hope they do.
But if they don’t care, I understand that.
They care about the offer that solves their problem, meets their needs, and exceeds their expectations.
We must create what that offer is, and present it.
Create a value proposition that clearly states what you do, how you do it, and why you do it better than anyone else.
After that we have to create a call to action that motivates, guides, and compels ducks to take the next step.
For example, we can offer them a free consultation, or a free sample of your product or service.
An offer like a benefit, or a bonus that adds value, solves pain, is good too.
Wrap it up
Creating a content strategy for a duck is not easy, but it’s not impossible. You just have to think like a duck, act like a duck, and speak like a duck.
We need to find out where ducks hang out.
We must quack and offer them something they can’t resist, and create content that converts prospects.
If you can create a content strategy that works for a duck, you can create a content strategy that works for anyone.
So are you ready to quack your way?
Let us quack together!
